THE NAVAL RESERVE LAW PROGRAM
DATABASE/DIRECTORY
PLEASE SEE NOTE BELOW REGARDING CHOICE OF WEB BROWSER
The Naval Reserve Law Program Database/On-Line Directory is now ready for use. Entering the Database requires you to know the entry username and password. This is an initial screening mechanism to prevent unauthorized use. For security reasons, this information cannot be posted on the Internet. It is available, however, through your chain of command from your REDCOM Staff Judge Advocate. Once you have this info, you can go to the Database via this link to The Naval Reserve Law Program Database.
When you are logged onto the Database, your best course of action is to choose the "Search" menu and then enter your last name and your rank. Your record should come up on your screen shortly. You may find that your home and business addresses, your telephone numbers and much of your other information is missing. We need YOUR help for this!
You will supposedly soon be able download or print out the nw on-line input form which will allow us to add any missing information to your record. If you have the database username and password, you can enter the "Webmaster Menu" from the main entry page and access the form, although there are currently some technical difficulties with this approach. Alternately, you can print out the on-line input form (click here!) from our NR Law Program Web.
Finally, if you are really desperate, I will e-mail you the form in either Word 97 or WordPerfect 6/7/8 format. You can then fill out the form and e-mail it to the electronic address below, or print it out and fax/mail it.
In any case, please return the form by whatever means is best for you (although electronic transmission is always preferred) to OJAG Code 62. The address is Office of the Judge Advocate General (Code 62), Department of the Navy, Washington Navy Yard, 1322 Patterson Avenue SE, Suite 3000, Washington, DC 20374-5066, and the fax is 202-685-7159, DSN 325-7159. There is also a special e-mail account for forwarding information: RJAGWebmaster@jag.navy.mil (please note that this is not the general e-mail account for our Web page, but is dedicated for database purposes only). Accordingly, please send all changes or additions to the Directory to that address and not to me.
Thanks for your interest and support!
NOTE: There continue to be reports of difficulty retrieving information from the Search menu on the Database. One of the probable identified causes of this problem is the choice of browser used -- Internet Explorer 4.0/5.0 is somewhat likely to return diagnostic error messages, while Netscape Navigator seems to work. This is not a reflection upon either of the browsers or the companies that publish them but rather an internal problem with the Database. The situation is under review.
